We have had a conservatory built and they have left the soil stack inspection chamber man hole inside the conservatory this has caused a smell to continually come from the manhole, we asked a drain person to look at it and he has said that the internal soil stack is capped and so the smell is caused by it being unable to vent. We are in a new build house, if the manhole is sealed and moved into the garden will this resolve the smell issue and how does the stack vent smells and gasses away from the house without a vent on in the first place.
Can moving it interfere with removal of gasses and smells and will this resolve it?
I am confused as to how this works?
