I need to have a 40amp domestic cooker switched outlet moved 12 inches horizontally.
I would like to leave the existing cooker socket as installed, and to add 12 inches of horizontal embeded trunking and cabling to a new 40amp switched outlet fitted alongside.
What are the permissible jointing methods to connect and extend the existing cooker cabling? If the existing cooker patress is fully blanked off after with a full cover plate, can I replace the existing switch-block with a simple straight-through terminal block? If so,what are the requirements for such a terminal block and earth continuity?
Lastly, would this work be 'notifiable' for Building Control?
