Rinnai Infinity 16i Water Heating System

by bubbles » Fri Mar 14, 2008 6:30 pm

Hello

I am new on this forum so if I ask stupid question please forgive.

I got hot air vent heating system at home which does the water heating as well. I am quite happy with air vent heating but water heating doesn't serve me well as if someone had a bath there is no water for next couple of hours. So I asked this guy to come and suggest. He said I can have Instantaneous multi-point water heater ( whatever that means! ) and I should be able to get rid of all tanks. He gave me a pamphlet of Rinnai Infinity 16i.

Now my question is: is 16i enough for normal home usage (shower/bath) ? or should i go for 26i ?

Another question : I have done bit of successful plumbing in past. Should I try removing all tanks and fitting upto water level ? and leave gas stuff for CORGI guys ? I guess It will save me some money.

Once its all fitted do I need CORGI certificate ?

Thanks

I had a Main 7 which is 27Kw and it is just big enough I would not use a smaller one. And I am considering changing this and using a single boiler and a mains pressure storage tank as when it goes wrong I have no other way to heat water and I can't use a power shower and when I use shower it is very much affected by other water usage like washing machine. Still very good though far better than electric. At the time I fitted there were no mains pressure tanks and no one ever thought of solar panels but now there are other considerations and I would not recommend you getting rid of the storage tank unless you really need the room. Fit a separate boiler yes good idea but not getting rid of tank.
