Hi, just read about your problem. Just had my lounge ceiling and walls plastered. We had the ceiling done because there were cracks and it looked lovely when it was plastered. It has been done a week and the cracks have reappeared but as very hairline ones.
Sorry can't answer your question, am looking for the answer myself.
What to do now? Any suggestions anyone?
Frankie

hairline cracks are difficult to fill as the filler wont hold - widen the crack with a stanley knife then fill with polyfilla and sand smooth. alternatively you could line with lining paper.

Did you have the area re boarded? If so, its sounds as though there has not been a big enough gap between boards, so as boards contract and stretch, the crack appears. If it is just a hairline crack, then the previous advise is good.
