Help have Glow worm fire and backboiler
10 years old. Had service on it and boiler would not relight had to have replacement combustion products discharge safety device. Part supplied was same device but for fire and plumber added bit from broken part that was missing on the fire device. pilot light has lit. BUT boiler keeps coming on and off every 2 minutes even at minimun temperature. wasn't like this before is it because wrong part fitted even though it works or is something else wrong? IDEAs please would be appreciated

Are the radiators and hot water too hot ? could the thermostat probe have been incorrectly replaced.

Anything to do with the pilot should not affect the way the boiler works ie the temerature or anything to do with the thermostat.

Glow worm boiler problem. Thanks for your response will ask plumber about thermostat probe. Water is very hot even on minimum. Still worried about fire oxy pilot being used instead of boiler part although he adapted it and seems to have worked ok

It is hard to say without seeing the appliance and the parts used, if the pilot for the boiler and fire are the same then it wont be a problem.

But as a rule parts should not be altered or adjusted in a way that is not advised by the manufacturer - manufacturers parts should be used for their appliance. There will be a parts list in the back of the boiler manual with the parts number and the Gas Council number of the appliance will be on the front of the manual and on the boiler data badge. If in any doubt - order the correct replacement part.

But as i have said the pilot wont affect the temperature of the water or radiators or the thermostat on the boiler.
