by marcpaul » Wed Apr 09, 2008 9:08 pm

hi all
just insalled a shower cubicle complete with a 2 bar pump. hot water is fine but having problems with the cold....you cant connect mains pressure to the pump so i need to put a tank in the loft but i cant get a tank that fits through the hole.can i butt 2 or 3 smaller tanks together... or can i buy a device that will reduce the cold pressure to the pump. cheers

Marc,

What kind of hot water system do you have.

Conventional, combi, unvented.

cold water tank reply

hi rico
its a bog standard system... back boiler, hot water tank in the airing cupboard with a cold feed tank on top of it. i know i need a supply tank in the loft for the shower but i cant get a standard size tank up there. i was wandering if a pressure relief valve would do the trick if i connect the mains up to the pump, and turn the pressure down.
many thanks
marc

Marc,

What exactly is the problem with the cold. I'm assuming it is overpowering the hot.

Maybe the easiest way to sort would to check the pressure of your cold mains supply and get a matching pump for the hot.
