Hello,
Does anyone have any experience of building a drywall partition at right angles to ceiling joists, when the exposed ceiling beams have to be retained (as a condition of listed building consent).
It will need to be part E compliant and I'd prefer to use steel framing.
I'm assuming I can just screw the u-channel head track to the upstairs sub floor between the joists, use a piece of c-stud on the vertical sides of the joists and a small piece of u-channel on the underside of the joists to get a sort of 'wraparound' effect?
