Large Gap between wall and skirting board - 1920's house

by Brillo » Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:02 am

I just stripped about 20 years of old wallpaper and paint off the walls of my 1920's house. There are large (6mm to 10mm) gaps between the top of the skirting boards and the wall. How do I make this good without ripping all the boards off and skimming the bottom of the walls?

Best thing would be to simply fill the gaps with a flexiable filler or wood filler. I would pack out the larger gaps with old newspaper first to save using lots of filler. Cheers.
