I am replacing two garden pedestal lights and have a problem with the wiring.
The old light fittings are about twenty years old and had no earth wires but the new ones do.
The wiring from the mains, feeds two red, two blue and two yellow wires to the first light.
The second light has one of each wire.
I have wired both these lights up the same way as the previous two lights were wired but they are not lighting up when switched on.
The second light was wired up first with the old light (the first one) still wired up and the second light worked ok when switched on.
It seems the problem is the wiring on the first light.
Could this be to do with the earthing of it ?
I have wired each of the two wires in together into the block on the first light.
These lights have no sensors on them.
