Hi folks,
getting ready to install new shower pump & thermostatic shower.

I've used Speedfit push-fit fittings so far and have used the standard service valves to isolate fittings.

Been thrown slightly, as the instructions for pump state explicitly that it must be full bore, non-restricting (gate) valves in the feed.

Do these service valves qualify - couldn't see anything explicit on the John Guest site.

you should always try to follow the manufacturer's recommendation. if they call for full bore gate valves then that's really what you should use. you may invalidate the warranty if you don't comply with their implicit instructions.

personally not a fan of gate valves. they seize too readily, a good idea to give them a little turn off and on again every so often.

There are a few different types of isolation valves, however there are two types:

The normal, which when you look through it, has a smaller diameter (bore).

Or, Full Bore Valves, which have a larger body, and therefore on a 15mm valve the internal diameter is 15mm.

ps. ensure the 'Speedfit push-fit fittings' are suitable for the pump pressure!
