i have just had to replace my time clock for my hot water cylinder. it has been off for about 2 weeks as i had to order a specific part so it would be the same. makes it easier for me to change. can anyone tell me if it will take a while from the minute i put the power back on to getting hot water through the taps. cheers

Do you mean the hot cylinder thermostat?

Anyway,, whatever happens you have to run the boiler to allow the transfer of heat through the primary system to warm the domestic hot water.
You should be looking at about 40 minutes, obviously depending on the size of the tank and the temperature of the water in the tank!

If the water in the cylinder is cold, it'll take 45mins to an hour to heat up to a decent temperature.

If it's not cold, and you have been using the heating etc, then it'll take the same amount of time as it would normally to heat the water for a bath etc.


Why ? is there a problem with the new timer ?
