Stainless steele chimney/cooker hood question Help, advice and problem solutions on all aspects of home appliances from washing machines to TV's

Im going to install a chimneyhood above my gas cooker,on the same wall rite at the top there are 3 pipes running along the wall.

Problem is i cant extend the chimney (cooker hood) to the ceiling as the pipes come in the way.......Does this cause a problem? Does the hood have to be rite up to the ceiling?

Ive had a ducting put in so the chimney will be using a outside vent.

The ducting will need to connect to the chimney hood its self so as long as you can get that connected it will function OK.

Asthetically, the chimney should be from the top of the wall at ceiling height all the way down. You can push it up and connect it to the wall below the pipes but there will be a gap around the top that will look bad.

If you have a wall unit each side of the chimney hood, you could run a panel across to connect the two (a 'flyover') and finish the hood at that point. Run cornice all the way along to finish off. 8)
