In theory most of India uses 230vac at 50Hz so it would. But power cuts would likely be a problem as the battery back-up will operate alarm each time the power fails with two batteries one in bell box and one in main panel this could be a problem and of course who would respond if the alarm goes off anyway? May be some locals would respond by ripping off the wall to get some piece and quiet? I think you need to look into why house alarms are rarely used in punjab.
Also who would fit it. Although alarms can be bought the information on how they are wired is not freely available for obvious reasons. And the better the alarm the harder to get information.
