Concrete over concrete?

by Jon Flaig » Mon May 07, 2007 11:53 am

I have a slab of concrete in my back yard that has quite an uneven surface, though it is in good condition. Is it possible to apply a further skim of concrete or some other product to get a smoother, polished, surface? If so what puducts/mixes/techniques are relevant?

Thanks

A skim of new concrete should be at least 75mm thick Jon and self levelling floor screed is not recommended for external use so you are really looking at slabs, tarmac or a very small aggregate screed, all three of which have a minimum application thickness of 40mm.
