Floor tile Adhesive Advice and information on tiling and fixing tiles to a variety of surfaces

Hi,
I have just managed to remove the tiles from my bathroom floor.
They were laid directly onto the floor boards, using a very flexible tile adhesive.
The problem I have is that there is still a large amount of the adhesive still stuck to the floor boards.
Any ideas on how to remove it?
It will take me for ever to chisel it off.
Should I just remove a large section of the floor and put new boards down?
I have measured the boards and they appear to be 22mm thick, house was built in 1965, can I get new boards this size?

Remove it - don't bother! You won't get all of it off and probably have to use an SLC anyway.

Take up the boards over the area you want to tile (ie if you aint changing the bath don't rip up the boards underneath) and replace with WPB ply sheet making sure that you put in extra noggins to provide extra stability at the joins. Use 25mm if tiling direct onto the ply or 12/18mm if using a decoupling membrane.

22mm is 3/4 inch or near as dammit. Don't try and make it the same - too difficult and you'll not notice a slight variation in height between old and new tiles.
