Was hoping someone could help me please. I have a cairngorm black work top from MFI fitted at the moment but it has been recently damaged by a hot pot. I am going to replace it with the same thing as it is practically new, MFI charged £150 per sheet for this, but I noticed B & Q have the same one only its called Ebony work top and it costs £60, are these work tops all the same quality or is it possible the B & Q one wont be the same quality hence the cheaper price. Or could it be that MFI are vastly over priced and the quality is the same, Im really confused by this, I hope someone can help.

Could be a mixture of both! B & Q are cheaper than MFI but sometimes don't carry the same quality products. Check the thickness of the worktops this is the only real difference which can determine price. They will both be laminated board but the thicker ones are more expensive.

if you have a howdens store nearby check them out they have the same worktops as mfi and cost about 75 pounds i just purchased a blue magna a few weeks ago only thing is you need a trade account get hubby or yourself to go in say you are a builder or something to do with building etc and you want to open an account easy peasy hope you have luck then you will never ever need to walk into a mfi store ever again as they are the biggest crooks and have the worst customer service i have ever experienced world wide
