Gas Cooker With Oven..

Hi can anyone help i have a cas cooker with the normal oven it is 2 years old,now and again we put stuff in the oven to cook and when we check the oven to see how the food is cooking the gas in the oven has went off and has to be re lit this happens now and again and is getting quite annoying this only happens to the oven and never happens on the cooker rings,anyone have any idea what the problem is..

There's normally a thermocouple on the cookers or some type of safety device.

Check and clean first as fat and grease can sometimes block the burner or stop the device working correctly.

If no luck, I would suggest getting the Thermocouple changed. You don't have to undo any gas connections, and they are simple to fit
(unlike a boiler, where you normally have to brek a gas connection, and a CORGI registered engineer should be used).

You can't really go wrong - if not fitted correctly it will not sense the flame and will not let the main burner light.
