Electric shower keeps tripping

by Heidi17 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 8:58 am

I have a Triton T100i electric shower which is approximately 7 years old and I have never had any problems with it until the last few days. When I switch it on it works perfectly but when hubby tries to have his shower (about 15 mins after I last used it) as soon as he touches the 'On' button it trips the electric. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this before I pay for an electrician to come out please? If we reset it and try again the same thing happens. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks.

As you have a shower it warms up expelling air once you have finished it cools and draws in air and moisture the latter is causing a problem which causes the system to trip in time it drys out. Chances are only cure is to change shower unit but really you should get an electrician so he can do proper tests.
