blocks

i'm going to build a blockwork shed on to a concrete slab,will concrete blocks be too heavy as the slab is only a foot or so deep,so i was thinking thermalite instead,the size is 3.0x2.7...any ideas ?

So long as the base is in good condition I'm sure you could use lightweight blocks without problems, however I am not a structural engineer or builder so others can advise better.

hi and thanks for reply,i have the slab and was now wondering where to put the dpc..underneath the first row of bricks or do i put it along the top of the first course...any ideas?
