Trench outside French doors leading to paving, to avoid damp

by bellabella » Wed Jul 16, 2008 12:37 am

I'm putting in French doors, and paving a part of my garden outside the French doors, accross the length of the back of my little house, but am worried about how to make sure that if the paving comes up higher than the damp membrane/course, it will cause damp. Any one advise me on how to build a trench or how close my paving can go to the French doors. There will be a step down from the 3000mm opening for French doors... Thanks, Bella

There should be 2 bricks visible below the DPC, so not a huge step down from the doors. Stick to this and you wont have any problems.
