burying external water pipe

by Kevschofield » Tue Jul 22, 2008 2:50 pm

I already have an outside tap on 25 mm blue plastic pipe and want to extend it by around 30 metres to the other end of the garden. How deep do I bury the pipe, and presume I surround in sand for protection? What diameter pipe? Should I also put a valve near the end to turn off if necessary? Thanks for any help..............

Water bylaws state that underground water services should be between 750mm and 1350mm deep from the finished ground level.

Goose neck bends where it enters and exits the ground, allow for a little bit movement at joints above ground.
