Hot tap on bath only trickling All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

The hot tap on the bath is now only a trickle. The cold is working at full pressure. All the other taps in the house are running at full flow. Could it be just a washer or do I need to call in the professionals?

Sounds like a fault with the tap. Taps have all sorts of sealing systems, but you've hit on the likely problem. Turn off your hot water, dismantle the tap and find the faulty part. Check out the DIY projects section of this site: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects.htm

Firstly look in the tap (where the water comes out) there's sometimes little plastic inserts - pop this ou with a screwdriver and see if that solves the problem, they do become blocked.

If no luck you need to strip tap and check/renew washer.
