What size air brick for a balanced flue boiler in the kitche

by Rex1 » Tue Aug 12, 2008 6:46 pm

My Auntie has just been told by British Gas that the air brick in her kitchen is not big enough. They are coming back in a couple of weeks to recheck and condemn if a new one isn't fitted. What is the size required?

Thanks
Rex

Hiya mate,

depends if it is in a compartment/cupboard or not. Is it open flued (o/f) or room sealed (r/s); if it is in a compartment are the vent to the outside or are they to the kitchen?

It also depends on what other o/f gas appliances are in the kitchen (if any) and if it is open plan into another room etc.

What kW input gross is the boiler? It will give you this information on the data plate somewhere on the boiler as either gross or net.

Tell me the exact circumstances the of the boiler location and I will work out the size for you.

AH.
