Hi all, just new to the forum so hello, the problem i have is , my boiler ( not sure what model ) has decided to stop working so i have no heating or hot water, the pilot light is still lit but when i try to turn it on there is nothing!! previously when i turned on the power there would be a click and the burner would kick on but there is absolutely nothing now!
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Any advice is more than welcome.

I have read in this Forum, that the pump can be a mite reluctant to move if left unused for a while, but might respond to setting it to max speed (my Grundfos has 3 speeds). Elsewhere in this forum I read about a bleed-point at the pump where a screw-driver might be inserted to persuade a stuck impeller to move. Pumps can get so crudded that even tho' they may sound and feel healthy, they produce practically no flow.
My pump costs only £71 inc VAT. and can be replaced without any draining, as there is an isolating valve fitted onto each end.

need a few more details on the boiler

dont bother. if the pump was faulty the boiler would fire for a short while then overheat. its more likely to be programmer or motorised valve

The boiler is a Baxi wm 381 RS, i found the plug fuse had blown so i tried a higher rated fuse , it also blew, i traced the wiring and found no shorting but when i tried the higher fuse the pump tried to move for a nano second then the fuse blew, do you recon its the pump and it may be a case of changing it and everything will be hunky dory??
I couldnt find a PCB anywhere on the boiler amd had it practically stripped.

Quick update, can now get the boiler to fire but stops after around 20-30 secs, i can only assume from an earlier answer that the pump is indee knackered and needs replacing.

yes i agree to you and if you can find the problem you can rectify that in many ways to your air conditioning
