hallogen 50w spots

by greengrass » Mon Aug 18, 2008 10:01 pm

I have 4 x 50w hallogen spots [mini ones] on a fancy bar in the kitchen ceiling. Every time a bulb blows there is a blue flash and it knocks out the wired type fuse. WHY?
I have noticed that Screwfix do single bayonet plug in MCB fuses so am going to change to them save messing with fuse wire.

The fuse box is an 8way Wylex can I just un plug the wired fuse and plug in the MCB or do I have to change the fuse holder?

You need to change fuse holder but only one screw it is only the plastic bit you change. Also you need to remove blank very carefully on lid very easy to break whole lid.

When you buy the mcb's that adapt to that old wylex board in screwfix they usually come with the carrier to fit this board when ordering ask the person you are ordering it with o double check in the catalogue
