weep holes before render

by mortarboard » Thu Aug 21, 2008 7:14 am

I need to put weep holes over my door lintel in a wall that will be rendered. I intend to use the small vertical plastic ones to put in the vertical joints. Is it best to fit these now and stick them out 10 or 15mm to allow for the render or should I just leave gaps between the blocks and fit them later?

Fit them now and cover with tape.
If you try to fit them later you will probably damage the render

Thanks w b

Is there a standard thickness for rendering?

(I'm going to get a pro to do my render and plaster)
