Shower pump identification - I don't understand!!!!

by Biscuitman » Mon Aug 25, 2008 7:02 pm

Hi

Not sure if or how to post picture on here so please look at attached link.

I have a shower pump in the attic and having looked at the pump (see picture) I have no idea what pressure the thing generates!!

Can someone interpret and tell me whether it would generate over 1.5 bar? Or even tell me what it all means....I feel very stupid!

Thanks in advance!

i am fairly certain this pump will give you at leat 1.5 bar of pressure. the info is a little confusing but this is how i read it:

Q 10-37 l/min - i'm guessing this means that it will supply between 10 and 37 litres per minute although it's a bit of an ambiguous format.

Hmax 43m - this is probably more meaningful - I interpret that to be 43 metres of head. 1 metre = 0.1 bar so 43 metres will give 4.3 bar at its maximum output. does the pump have a manual pressure setting?

you could always contact lowara and quote the model number - PBM 16/a (16 amps) and ask if you want to be sure.

Cheers for that, I thought that was what it was saying but was a little confused. Thanks for making the effort to tell me

The way I look at it is the pump will deliver 10 litres/min if the head is 33 metres or 37 litres/min if the head is 5 metres with a maximum head of 43 metres which is pretty good for a shower pump.

If the pump is capable of delivering water up to 43 metres that must mean it can achieve a pressure in excess of 3 bar (mains water pressure basically).

A Salamander pump I have here states the maximum static head is 15 metres or 1.0 bar
