flues, two appliances, one flue? Information, help and advice on many gas related subjects from gas fires to domestic appliances

this is going to sound ridiculous but can i run a gas fire and a gas boiler through the one flue exit .... to join them up and exit them through the one roof flue ... am i being ridiculous?

No, extremely dangerous, as the boiler will be room sealed, fanned flue, and the fire will probably be open flue. One appliance per flue.

Good call htg. As he/she(!?!) says you have two different flue types so it would most likely end up in you falling into a deep sleep...

There are special requirements for flue sharing.

Both appliances have to be of the same flue type and have certain extra safety properties.

This is outlined in the corgi 4th edition P.294 under common chimneys.

I know there is a fifth edition but... £19... rip off.
