hi, i am looking to become a qualifed spark, i have been working in the electrical and eletronic fields for a while now from film and t.v to large plants but never got round to getting qualified as i have been lucky to fall into jobs but now i am working under a full qualified spark and see this as a good time to get the right qualifications and earn more money. what i would like to do is maybe just sit exams for say c&g and 17th edition next year if not then can i get these qualifications through evening coarses. many thanks

You can sit C&G 2381 17th ed. regs & 2391 Insp./test as external candidate if you think you have the knowledge to pass, normal courses for full ticket AM2 require NVQ level 2 & 3 which takes from scratch 3 years evening or part time days, check with JIB regards 'prior knowledge acredation' I think they call it which may allow you to skip some parts,
Dodge 'electrician in a week' type adds at all costs,
ask local Tech college also they may help but be aware they also want 'bums on seats',
