White Silicone Sealant going "immediately" yellow Fillers, sealants and adhesives for all types of DIY work. Help, advice and information on all aspects of this subject

Hi!

I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently moved into an apartment where the white silicone sealant around the bath, shower, etc had patches of deep yellow in it. As this bothered me, I went ahead and removed it and resealed with fresh white silicone sealant. Within 3 days there is a definite yellowing happening in the same areas.

What could be causing this? Is there an alternative product I could use to avoid this happening in the future?

check the expire date.
If its in date sometimes you can get a faulty batch ,you will have to buy from another source

forever white is a good product, however even this will still discolour if the area in question is not COMPLETELY dry before application.

use silicon with a fungicide and quality product like dow corning
