boiler fault

hi guys my freinds boiler a ariston 24 mffi is continuosley sparking wen main burner is lit then going to lockout and when i reset the main burner lights for a short time then cuts out again with it constantly sparkin cud i be right in thinking it is the electode assembly and if so how difficult is it to replace im fairly confident with boilers but never had this problem before so any advise wud be much appreciated cheers bazza

There could be a few things causing this fault, break in lead, faulty electrode or faulty PCB.

Check the lead where is passes through the boiler case, anywhere where it could come into contact with metal, check the rubber grommets are in place.

Is the flame touching the electrode ?
