by timwebb2 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 10:01 pm

can anyone please help?

My two year old daughter has leant how to open the front door, it is upvc and double glazed.

How do I fit a chain to it as my wife is not keen on me drilling holes in the door?

or what else can be recommended please?

thanks.

the only way you will fit a chain is to drill door and frame

Fit a sash jammer on the frame. It is basically designed for upvc doors or windows and has a little arm that you rotate down to block the door.

I fit loads of these as they offer quite good security and allow easy exit in case of a fire without having to find your keys and then unlock the door.
Fit one high up and your child cannot get out and your still safe. The only downside is no one can in from outside with a key but then it would only be on if your in.
