Table Legs

by Cardiffbloke » Thu May 10, 2007 2:46 pm

Hi, I have biscuit jointed some old 30mm thick church pew seating together to forma pitch pine table top. I want to fit some newell posts under it for legs. What is the best wy to secure the legs to the underside of the table to ensure rigidity and without drilling through the top of the table to achieve it.....
thanks Howard

Fix the legs to a fixing block about 25mm thick screwed or dowelled through. Then stick the fixing block (complete with leg) to the underside of the table with gripfil adhesive. See our project on adhesives used at home via www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects.htm
