Hi there- I wonder if someone can advise me how to fix a replacement toilet pan to the tiled floor.
The old pan was only a year old and cracked right through- it had a small amount of cement under it and silicone. Would cement have caused stress cracking?
I have removed the old pan, and the new one slots in fine.
When I screw up the back bolts to the cistern to get a tight fit, it lifts the pan about 1cm off the floor- so what should I fill the gap with? Or should I be lowering the cistern to meet the pan?
Should I bed the pan on mortar mix, or some sort of rubber gasket? Or is silicone enough, or maybe silicone on the mortar?
If on tiles, will cement be enough or do I need to screw the pan down as well?
Many thanks for all ideas.
