Swoolen doors

by Freathy » Fri Sep 12, 2008 1:45 pm

I have had 12 new holllow internal doors fitted by a carpenter. They have been hanging for 3 months but several of them are continually refusing to shut because the timber is swelling. I have planed the doors on several occasions but the problem keeps arising. Any suggestuions please?

sounds like you have got some moisture getting in the doors. are you having other work done to other parts of your property ie plastering, the doors will suck the moisture out of the atmosphere. doors should be hung only when everything is fully dry.
