installing waste pipe in footings

by dougs1 » Wed Sep 17, 2008 1:16 pm

i am doing a self build project and have planed to have tollets situated against internal walls. can i run a 110mm soil pipe from an internal wall, under the sub-floor (not poured yet) and then out through the wall? or do tollets need to be againt external walls ??

Toilets do not have to be against external walls. If you have bends, junctions etc in you waste pipe then you may need a manhole, we have one with a trap door above it for access. If you need a manhole it will need a double seal to stop any smells. I would suggest you ask your building inspector (if he/she is any good) but if the run is straight then I doubt you will have to do anything special.
