I have a fitted gas fire. Above it is a mantle piece. When the fire is 'on', the underneath of the mantle piece gets quite hot. I am worried about the paint blistering. Is there any material available that I could attach to the underside of the mantle piece to deflect the heat?
Would that (Stainless Steel or Alluminium) retain the heat on one side i.e. the underside of the mantelpiece and not get hot on the other i.e. the side attached to the wood of the mantelpiece?
