Cracked Pane in Double Glazed

by paulr » Mon Oct 06, 2008 2:41 pm

Hi

I have an upstairs double glazed unit where the internal pane has cracked the entire width

I'm led to believe this is relatively common and something to do with expansion

My insurance company tell this is wear and tear and not covered - (I was waiting to hear if in fact it was the wrong sort of glass!)

So, can anyone confirm if it is 'normal' and what insurance companies typically do please?

Relatively common due to expansion??? I've never seen the need to tell that to anybody before. I find that there is usually a reason for it to crack .
