5 burst radiators in 1 year

by Hoodie » Tue Oct 07, 2008 12:05 pm

My house is 8 years old within the last year we have had 5 burst radiators.
My regular plumber told us the first radiator to go,. sucumb to wear and tear and replaced the radiator. Then went no2 got a different plumber in he thought it was due to a leak letting air into system,he replaced rad and discovered a junction box was leaking under floor.Since then 3 more have burst. Is the leak the problem and the damage was already done or could there be some other reason

air being drawn in can lead to corrosion problems as the plumber said but it could also be due to the system not being flushed properly when it was new or low quality radiators.

AS the saying goes - They don't make things (rads) like they used to!!
I've personally had 2 pinhole < 10 years old and no leak ...... of course.
Just replace with better quality ones.
