We moved recently and our new house has central heating pipes running throu the corner of one of the bedrooms. We had these pipes boxed in but now notice quite a strong smell - hard to describe, a bit 'fishy'/'musty'? coming from them. There is no leakage. What could be causing this and how do we overcome it. Thanks a lot.
Anyone lost a cat locally, they normally get themselves trapped, no seriously, if there is no pressure loss it could be something now dead smelling, and when the pipes get hot it gets worse.
This might be the same problem that I have. Sorry, I don't have an answer, can anybody help get rid of the "dead animal" smell that does get worse when the heating is on. Other than lifting the whole floor is there a way to stop the smell, maybe spray some disinfectant or bleach between the floorboards!
