preparing wall for tiling Advice and information on tiling and fixing tiles to a variety of surfaces

Hi,
I'm tiling my bathroom in my 80 year old house, i need to even up the concrete walls as removing the old tiles has also removed the top coat of plaster. Whats the best option, aquapanel needs to be battened on, and i don't want to lose too much of my small room by doing this. Is there anything out there i can screw or dot and dab directly to the wall except for plasterboard?

You can either remove the remaining plaster altogether and then replace it with dot and dabbed plasterboard that will not decrease the size of room or if the remaining plaster is in good condition skim it over to level up.

I don't understand why do you not want to use plasterboard?

Ok, thanks for that, i think i'll just go for the plasterboard option, i was just a bit wary as its a bathroom with steam etc, and my plastering is mince.

No problems. The tiles will protect the plasterboard from steam. Just fix the plasterboard with dot and dab, and then tile directly onto the board. No plastering required.
