Homemade Pull-Up Bar

by Nrxszvo » Tue Oct 21, 2008 2:14 pm

Good day to all of you. As you can see I'm new here, just going around on the net looking for some help with designing a pull-up bar.

So the problem I am having is how to mount it ontop of a wall so that it can withstand my weight without comming off, harming me and destroying my wall.

I made 2 simple drawings on paint to show what the area looks like, at least I hope it will help

Here is the room with the pull-up bar...I hope this makes sense.

As you can see I need a way of mounting it like I said at the top of the post, but is the way I have drawn it totally impossible to hold the downforce from my weight? THe bar will be made up from pipe, with 90 degree pipe elbow attatchments to make the basic shape you see in the second picture... Once again hope this is making sense, if not then I will try and explain better.

Anyway, any information that could help me out would be greatly appreciated.
