Fitting rising butt hinges

by jjmj243 » Tue Oct 21, 2008 12:27 pm

Following the laying of a new floor covering I am fitting rising butt hinges to a door. Do I have to shave the top corner of the door to allow the rise and fall to happen, how much do I take off? Right hand hinges and I am referring to top right inside corner of the door, Thanks

in a response to your questoin u need to put a "leading Edge" aross the whole top of the door! going from nothing to about 3mm or more on the rabate side of the door! same principle that u should have on the hinge and lock side of the door any way if its hung right! hope that helps
