Low pressure on combi boiler All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

Hi,
Hope someone can help. I recently moved to a house with a combi boiler heating system. The boiler is a Worcester 350, and I have regularly been keeping the pressure topped up to between 1 - 1.5 bar. But today the pressure is on 0 and every time I top it up to 1 - 1.5 bar, its drops to 0 within minutes meaning I have no heating or hot water. I've looked around for leaks and can't see anything. Should I get out an engineer or can I fix it myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers.

Check pressure relief valve, is it leaking outside ?.

yes it's leaking from the outside.

Renew or have it renewed by a competent person.

You could, to see if there's a temporary cure. Turn the PRV head so it opens and snaps shut, sometimes if it reseats itself it may slow the leak or stop for now - you may get some heating until it's replaced.

Yes that seems to have done the trick, the pressure is not dropping as much as before, so I do have some heating and hot water. Going to get someone to fix it as I'm not too clever at plumbing.
