Hi,I,m a plumber and tiler-done a bit of plastering,looking to replace a kitchen ceiling with new plasterboard. No coving to be added and walls are sound,so taping the edges along wall could be awkward-can I fill the gaps around ceiling to wall with a filler instead of tape?

Best thing is to tape as it will probally start cracking when drying and change in tempreture in room.
Have ever used jointing compond. Easy way round it apply self-adhesvive nylon tapes, apply jointing compond over tapes leave to dry and sand down, two or three application repeating this process. Finally light sand down until good neat job on completion.
