In one of our bedrooms we have a recess which has black mould appearing on the top of the wall. This is on an outside wall and the recess is always very cold. It is near the gutters, but these are clear. Any ideas on what to do would be grately appreciated, thanks.

Mould is normally caused by condensation. Make sure that you have adequate heating and ventilation.
