Hi there
I have a space in our kitchen, close to the sink, which needs covering and then - ideally - tiling. It is a space of about 18 inches high by 12 inches wide and eight inches deep. In it are the pipes etc connected to our new boiler which was installed earlier this year.
The sides of the space are covered and tiled. The front panel was made up of plywood with tiles attached. I have spare tiles from that lot ( the previous owners did the tiling) although they will need cutting.
What I have done is put a new plywood panel in place of the old one and have painted it as a temporary measure with white gloss paint. It is fixed to the "space" by way of magnetic catches, fixed to pre-existing vertical wooden battens at the side of the space.
What I now want to do is fix some of the spare tiles to this vertically-standing panel. My questions are
(a) is this feasible?
(b) do I need to treat the painted panel before applying tiling adhesive?
(c) will any tiling adhesive do?
(d) is there anything else I need to know?
