Electrics for shower

by SC81 » Wed Nov 26, 2008 8:43 pm

Hi. Currently have a 8.0kw shower running from a 30amp fuse. Which has been working fin for the last 10 years. I understand that a 30amp fuse is only supposed to run a 7.5 kw shower???

I am changing the shower as it is old. I was wondering what is the best shower around (power - wise) in that rating bracket or make of shower. Or will it not make any difference?? For example will a mira 8.0kw shower be more powerful than a triton with it being a better make.

Many thanks

In my opinion Mira are the best but the extra money you spend on a Mira probably evens it out benfit-wise with a cheaper Triton if that makes sense?!

Essentially you get a better shower but spend more money, with a triton you get a shower that works and saves you money.

From a 30amp supply fuse you shouldnt have an electric shower at all!
