Can anyone suggest a central heating control system that can be locked to prevent someone from turning down the heating and/or water?
I thought our boiler was broken the other day. Having had a cold shower - even with temperature setting at maximum - it turns out that a member of the household had turned down the hot water temperature at the boiler. This was because the lowest setting on the shower, which takes its feed from the boiler, is apparently "too hot" - even though the lowest temp setting is, in fact, cold water from the mains.
And while working from home today - which I do quite frequently - and after wondering why the radiators weren't getting as hot as normal, I found that a member of the household had in fact turned the heating down too. This was because "it was too hot a couple of weeks ago".
We're planning to move house soon and I'm genuinely considering trying to find some sort of central heating system that is either (a) lockable; or (b) can be programmed to send me a message (text, email) if the settings are disturbed. I joked about this when asking that <said member of household> stopped messing about with the settings. But the more I think about it, the more appealing the idea becomes...
Does such a system exist?
Cheers!
