I am doing up a house that I bought last year. Which involved moving the bathroom upstairs.
After having a perfectly working water tank etc replaced by a combi boiler, because everyone I spoke with highly recommended a combi boiler. I have been left with hardly any water pressure at all.
It has since been revealed that we share the main water supply with our next door neighbour - with them receiving the water first and then us. Thames Water will charge a fortune to set up our own mains.
I just wanted to know if there is anything that can now be done to give sufficient power to the nice big shower head I have in my walk-in shower?
Had I of known that it could end up like this, I would have never gone for a combi boiler.
Thames Water did say that I might be able to put a pump on somewhere just before the boiler as the water pressure is so low. Is this an option?
Otherwise, what is the answer to achieving a powerful shower now? Would the only option be to put a water tank back in? How much would I be looking at to do this?
Dont know if its worth mentioning but at the moment I am unable to get cold water out of the shower, on the lowest temperature it is still rather warm.
Also the water pressure is not as strong coming out of the bath or shower as it is out of the kitchen taps. Although the sink upstairs does seem just about sufficient.
Any advice would be really really appreciated. As I have lost all confidence in asking my current plumber anything.
